The exhibition “Mondo Piccolo” at the Italian Cultural Institute of Amsterdam extended until 26 July

May 14, 2024

The exhibition "Mondo Piccolo" at the Italian Cultural Institute of Amsterdam, realised in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, curated by Andrea Tinterri and has been extended and can be visited until Friday 26 July.

The exhibition is based on the project started in 2006 by the Emilian photographer. It is a work that rediscovers the lands dear to the writer Giovannino Guareschi, who was born in Roccabianca, in the province of Parma, on 1 May 1908.

«"Mondo Piccolo" – reads the critical text by Andrea Tinterri – is a space where the unpredictable materialises like the appearance of a boat surrounded by snow and trees. A boat completely covered with paintings by Elena Guastalla, a childish painting that evokes a fairy-tale epiphany».

On the occasion of the exhibition's opening at the IIC premises, the documentary film "Mondo Piccolo" by director Alessandro Scillitani (50 minutes in Italian with English subtitles), which delves into the people and places at the centre of the photographic project of the same name, will also be presented.
